The run
What the Cruise terminals run actually looks like
Sydney has two cruise terminals and they behave very differently. The Overseas Passenger Terminal sits at Circular Quay West on Hickson Road, in the middle of the city and in the middle of city traffic. White Bay, on the Balmain peninsula at Rozelle, is quicker to reach from the west but has no train station near it and no public parking, which is exactly why groups sailing from there charter a vehicle rather than arranging their own lifts. Both are short drives — twenty-five to forty-five minutes from Sydney Airport depending on the hour — and on both the driving is the easy part. The job is luggage and timing: a cruise case and a carry-on for every passenger, and a boarding window set by the cruise line that you cannot negotiate with. We size the vehicle around the bags rather than the seats, and we build the run so the group arrives inside its window rather than an hour either side of it.
The shape of the day
How the day usually runs
A typical version of this trip, so you can see where the hours go before you commit to a departure time. Your own itinerary replaces it — this is the starting point we plan from, not a fixed timetable.
Step 1: Terminal, ship and boarding window
Your cruise documents name the terminal and the boarding window. Send us both, plus the ship name — we plan the approach differently for Circular Quay than for White Bay, and the window decides the pick-up time rather than the other way around.
At bookingStep 2: Loading, unhurried
We allow real time for a group with cruise luggage to load, because everybody has two bags and somebody always has three. Your driver loads the underfloor or rear bay so nothing travels in the aisle.
Pick-upStep 3: Set-down as the terminal directs
On a sailing day the terminal forecourts are marshalled and the set-down arrangements are theirs, not ours. Your driver follows the direction given on the day, unloads at the point the marshals nominate and stays until the bags are with the group.
ArrivalStep 4: A meeting point, and a wait window
Coming off a ship is staggered and slower than anybody expects. We agree a meeting point and a realistic wait window in advance, so the return leg is not a race between two thousand people and one kerb.

The vehicle, and where it picks you up
Which vehicle suits this run
Luggage decides this one, and it is the run where the seat count on paper is most misleading. A group of twenty-four travelling to a wedding fits an executive minibus easily; the same twenty-four with a cruise case and a carry-on each does not. For cruise work we size on effective headcount rather than seats: a high-roof Sprinter with a rear bay handles a small family group and their bags, a midi-coach or a full-size coach with an underfloor bin handles anything larger, and a thirteen-seat Commuter is the wrong vehicle for any cruise transfer no matter how few people are travelling. Tell us the true bag count when you enquire — not the polite version — and we will name a vehicle that takes all of it in the hold rather than half of it on laps.
Pick-up and set-down
Send us the terminal name exactly as your cruise documents give it — passengers who assume every Sydney cruise leaves from Circular Quay are the reason we ask twice. Give us a mobile number for someone travelling in the group, a realistic bag count, and the boarding window rather than the sailing time. On disembarkation, nominate one meeting point and one person to hold it, and expect the group to come off in ones and twos over a long half hour. If anyone in the party needs step-free boarding or has a mobility aid, tell us at the quote stage so the right vehicle is assigned rather than substituted at the kerb.
What it costs
What moves the price on the Cruise terminals run
Every charter is quoted individually. These are the things that actually change the number on this particular run, rather than a general note about pricing.
Luggage, not passengers
A cruise group needs a bigger vehicle than its headcount suggests, and the vehicle is what sets the price. This is the single biggest reason a cruise transfer quote differs from an ordinary one.
Which terminal, and from where
The airport to White Bay and the airport to Circular Quay are different runs at different times of day. City traffic around the Quay on a Saturday morning is its own consideration.
Number of collection points
One hotel is a transfer. Four addresses across four suburbs, each with luggage, is a route — and it needs to start considerably earlier to still land inside the boarding window.
Waiting on disembarkation
The return leg has a wait built into it by definition. We agree the window up front and confirm it in the quote, so waiting time beyond the booked window is never a surprise on the invoice.

Where we collect from
We start this run from anywhere in Greater Sydney
We collect from any address in the Sydney basin — a school gate, a hotel forecourt, an office loading zone or a house. There is no travel surcharge inside Greater Sydney, and we confirm a legal, workable stopping point in writing before the day.
Not on the list? It only means nobody has asked for it often enough to put it on the page. Send the address and we will quote it. See every area we cover

Tell us your date and we will price the Cruise terminals run
The date, the pick-up suburb and a rough headcount is enough to start. The written quote comes back with the vehicle named, the hours set out and every inclusion listed — and the only things that can be added afterwards are the extras listed as confirmed in advance, each one agreed with you before it is charged.
Every price we publish is indicative, GST inclusive, and includes the driver and fuel. Your figure is confirmed in your written quote.
