The Northern Beaches are the part of Sydney where a bus makes the most obvious sense, because parking at Manly, Dee Why and Palm Beach is scarce and expensive on exactly the days everybody wants to be there. The peninsula has one main road, so timing matters far more than distance — a summer Saturday afternoon out of Palm Beach is a completely different trip from the same run on a Tuesday. We plan around that rather than quoting a distance and hoping. Weddings, surf club functions and family events make up most of what we run on the beaches.
