What you are booking

How Tours & sightseeing works with us

A private tour coach means the itinerary is yours: the stops you want, in the order you want them, for as long as you want to stay at each one. We run city loops taking in the Opera House, The Rocks, Bondi and the harbour lookouts, and full days out to the Blue Mountains, the Hunter Valley and the South Coast. Vehicles with a PA system let a guide or a group leader be heard from the front, and a midi-coach reaches cellar doors and lookout car parks that a full-size coach simply cannot turn into. Where a day runs long we plan it against the driver's legal hours before you book, so the return trip is not a problem discovered at four in the afternoon.

Sizing the vehicle

Sizing the vehicle for Tours & sightseeing

Start with the headcount, then adjust for what the group is carrying. A suitcase each, or a set of sporting gear, moves a booking up a size even when the seats already fit — which is why the quote form asks about luggage as well as passengers.

Where these groups go

Runs we plan most often for Tours & sightseeing

Each of these has its own page with the shape of the day, the pick-up notes and what the drive actually involves. Distances and driving times are approximate road figures.

Blue Mountains Day trip · approx. 2 hrs each way
  • ≈ 105 km
  • 1h 45m – 2h 15m
  • Full day
Which vehicle suits the Blue Mountains run
Almost everything in our fleet handles the Great Western Highway, so the choice is really about the day rather than the climb. For up to about twenty-four people an executive minibus is the easy answer — it parks in the village streets, turns around at a lookout car park, and keeps the group in one conversation. Between roughly twenty-five and forty, a midi-coach adds underfloor luggage and a PA, which matters if you are travelling with a guide or a teacher who wants to be heard. Over forty, a full-size coach with reclining seats makes the two-hour legs far more comfortable, and it is the better vehicle if the group includes older travellers. If Jenolan Caves is on your list, tell us early: that leg is long, winding and has its own access constraints, and we check the road and size the vehicle for it rather than assuming.
Hunter Valley Wine tours · full day
  • ≈ 165 km
  • 2h – 2h 30m
  • Full day
Which vehicle suits the Hunter Valley run
The Hunter is one of the few runs where the destination, not the group, chooses the vehicle. Cellar-door driveways vary enormously: some have sealed coach parking and a turning circle, others are gravel tracks with low branches and nowhere for a fourteen-metre coach to turn around. For up to about twenty-four people an executive minibus goes almost anywhere in the valley and is the vehicle we recommend most often for this run. Between twenty-five and forty a midi-coach is usually fine, but the venues need checking first. Over forty, a full-size coach is comfortable on the motorway and restricted in the valley, so we plan the day around venues that can take one — or split the group across two smaller vehicles, which often works better than it sounds because it halves the queue at every tasting bench.
Port Stephens Overnight and weekend
  • ≈ 205 km
  • 2h 30m – 3h
  • Overnight or weekend
Which vehicle suits the Port Stephens run
Overnight means bags, and bags mean a proper luggage bay. For up to about fourteen people a high-roof Sprinter with a rear bay is comfortable and fits into resort and holiday-park driveways easily. Between fifteen and twenty-four an executive minibus works, though a weekend group of twenty-four with a bag each is close to its limit. From about twenty-five upward a midi-coach or full-size coach with underfloor bins is the honest recommendation: the legs are long enough for reclining seats to matter and the luggage has somewhere to go. The one constraint worth checking early is your accommodation: resort forecourts and holiday parks vary in what they can take, and a coach that cannot turn around has to reverse out of somewhere it should not have entered. Send us the address at the quote stage and we will look at it before the day.
Southern Highlands Weddings and wine
  • ≈ 120 km
  • 1h 30m – 1h 50m
  • Day trip or wedding
Which vehicle suits the Southern Highlands run
Access, not capacity, is the deciding factor in the Highlands. Rural venue driveways are often narrow, sometimes unsealed, occasionally lined with low branches, and rarely built with a fourteen-metre coach in mind. For up to twenty-four guests an executive minibus reaches almost any property and turns around in a paddock gateway. Between twenty-five and forty a midi-coach is usually workable if the driveway is sealed and there is somewhere to turn. Over forty, a full-size coach carries everyone in one movement and is the cheapest option per head — but only when the venue can genuinely take one, and two minibuses running together frequently beat one coach at a country property. On the Kangaroo Valley and Fitzroy Falls side, the descents are narrow and winding, so we check the specific address before committing a large vehicle rather than assuming it will be fine.

Tours & sightseeing across Greater Sydney

We collect from any address in the Sydney basin — a school gate, a hotel forecourt, an office loading zone or a house. There is no travel surcharge inside Greater Sydney, and we confirm a legal, workable stopping point in writing before the day.

FAQs

Before you book

The questions we get most often. If yours isn't here, call and ask — we'd rather answer it now than have you find out later.

Get a tour quote

Do you provide a guide?
We provide the vehicle and the driver. Many groups bring their own guide or group leader, and our coaches with a PA system are set up for exactly that. If you need a guide arranged, say so when you enquire and we will tell you honestly whether we can help or point you to someone who can.
How long is a realistic Blue Mountains day?
Allow roughly two hours each way from the Sydney CBD in ordinary traffic, plus the time you actually want at Echo Point, Scenic World or Leura. Most groups end up with a nine to ten hour day. We will map your stops against the driving time and tell you before you book if the plan is too full to work.
Can we change the itinerary on the day?
Small changes are usually fine — swapping the order of two stops, or staying somewhere a little longer. What cannot flex is total time and driver hours, so anything that extends the day becomes waiting or extra time and is confirmed rather than assumed. Send the itinerary in advance and there is far less to change.

We came over from America with a pretty big group and used Sydneybuses during our time in Sydney. Honestly, the whole experience was great. The bus was super clean, comfortable, and actually felt high quality compared to a lot of charter…
